Transport of ammonia via pipeline from the Zeeland section of North Sea Port is technically feasible, can be carried out safely, and is economically viable

North Sea Port, Smart Delta Resources, and the Province of Zeeland commissioned a feasibility study into an ammonia network from Vlissingen to Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium. The study found that transport via pipeline can be carried out safely and is economically viable, provided certain conditions are met.

First mega ship in New Lock Terneuzen

On Friday 11 October, the bulk carrier “Bregaglia” was the first mega ship to use the New Lock in Terneuzen. The ship left the new sea lock after King Willem Alexander and King Filip jointly performed the official opening ceremony.

Three kilometres of smart fencing in Vlissingen marks a new step in the fight against crime in North Sea Port

Three kilometres of “smart” fencing is the first result of a series of physical security measures implemented by the “Stichting Veilige Zeehavens Zeeland” (Zeeland Safe Seaports Foundation). This foundation works together with government agencies, businesses and security services to make the port more resilient to crime, such as drug smuggling.
