As of 1 January 2026, revised conditions will apply to service providers offering port services at North Sea Port in Ghent. These conditions are laid down in the “Port Services Framework”.
During the year-end period 2025/2026, a temporary exemption from inland port dues applies to vessels docking at designated quays within our port area. The exemption applies to arrivals and departures between Wednesday, 24 December 2025 from 3:00 p.m. and Monday, 5 January 2026 until 9:00 a.m.
From 1 January 2026, North Sea Port will be implementing a number of changes to the rates and conditions for maritime shipping, inland shipping and related sectors. These adjustments are aimed at cost neutrality, clarification and sustainability.
With the introduction of Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) on Monday, December 1 (9 a.m.), the Permanent Commission for Supervision of the Scheldt Waterway has decided to reorganize traffic guidance on the Ghent-Terneuzen Canal. As a result, North Sea Port will no longer be able to offer its services on VHF channel 11.
