Automotive on a roll

Our port runs smoothly for automotive: deep-sea access, solid logistics, vast storage and future-ready infrastructure. All anchored in a region where this industry runs in our blood.

  • We’re in a prime logistics position: directly by the sea with a deep-sea port and strong inland connections. DFDS and CLdN operate shortsea roro services, while Europe’s hinterland is within easy reach by road, rail and inland waterway.

  • From engineers to operators: here, automotive runs deep. Fuelled by knowledge institutions, universities, and technical schools, it’s no surprise the industry stays (and grows!) right here.

  • We provide all the infrastructure automotive needs to grow and go green: pipelines for steam exchange, solid roads and a robust power grid. Grid expansion? Planned. And vital for our automotive players to reach CO₂ neutrality.

Logistics that drive you

Every delivered car relies on a smart chain. Here you get speed and coordination: short sea shipping, stevedores, secure storage and sustainable energy — everything to drive automotive forward.

  • We handle seagoing vessels with ease. Via roll-on/roll-off we offload vehicles quickly and efficiently. Stevedores, terminals and logistics partners keep flows smooth to and from Europe’s road, rail and inland waterway networks.

Green Shipping Corridor: on course for CO₂-neutral

With the Port of Gothenburg and DFDS, we’re launching Europe’s first green corridor. Greener ships, shore-side electrification and e-trucks keep cargo moving while cutting CO₂. It’s logistics that stay fast and get cleaner.

Greening at full steam: Volvo Car & Stora Enso

Real frontrunners. Since 2016, Stora Enso and Volvo Car have shared waste heat via an underground pipeline. This circular energy flow cuts Volvo’s CO₂ emissions by 15,000 tonnes per year, a reduction of over 40%! A textbook case of industrial symbiosis.
