Your sustainable logistics hotspot

The sustainable logistics hotspot? That’s us — multimodal access and a strong focus on innovation and a greener tomorrow.

Modal shift

We promote transport by water and rail to reduce CO₂ emissions and ease road congestion. Smooth, efficient and sustainable.

Fuel shift and electrification

From bio-based and alternative fuels to electrification: we steer a smart, wide course toward alternative energy.

Digital and smart

A smart port, that’s what we’re going for. Smart logistics, data exchange and autonomous vehicles make transport and storage smoother, safer and greener.

Innovation

With unique cross-border collaboration and a committed innovation team, we’re charting a course toward the logistics of the future.

Green ambitions you can count on

15 % of all transport will go by rail in 2030.
50 % less waiting time by 2030 – thanks to North Sea Portal.
80 % lower emissions thanks to Europe’s first Green Shipping Corridor.
10 % zero-emission fuels in shipping operations by 2030.
50 % of trucks in our port will be electric by 2040.

On course to net zero — together

We’re setting our sails for change. With our partners, we’re speeding up the energy and fuel transition and steering innovation in green logistics, taking our role as Connector seriously.

  • We foster synergies between businesses to spark smart collaboration. In workshops and events, we share ideas and chart solutions – from tomorrow’s energy mix to the modal shift. Because going green is a joint effort.

  • From grid congestion to sustainable logistics chains: in key steering groups and workshops, we represent the interests of companies in our port and help ensure that sustainability remains both achievable and affordable.

  • We’re speeding up the transition to renewables and circular fuels. From green shore power to biofuels and smart energy management – we’re setting sail on all fronts to cut emissions and drive sustainable logistics.

The first Green Shipping Corridor

The Green Shipping Corridor linking Sweden and Belgium brings it all together: sustainable shipping, electrified terminals and smart multimodal connections. DFDS and Port of Gothenburg were founding partners in this pioneering alliance.

With Gothenburg, North Sea Port and Antwerp-Bruges as key junctions, this project heads towards near-zero-emission transport. Its unique strength lies in the dual focus on both sea and land, backed by clear targets and concrete steps on fuels, shore power and safety. A standout collaboration.

Green logistics on the move

Sustainable logistics is no pipe dream – it’s already in motion! Together with our partners, we’re shaping a smarter, greener and future-ready port.

Clean Energy Hub

Clean Energy Hub? That’s us. From charging points, LNG and biofuels to swappable energy containers — all hands on deck for cleaner propulsion on land and water.

Shore power for inland shipping

Our shore power supply cuts CO₂, improves the air quality and keeps things quiet at the quay. Practical and sustainable, just how we like it.

Green truck stops

By 2030, three new truck parking areas will serve our port – safe, smart and sustainable, with a focus on renewables and cleaner logistics.

North Sea Portal

We’re going full steam ahead with North Sea Portal – our digital platform. It’s set to save 750,000 tonnes of CO₂ a year, halve waiting times, and cut port user costs up to 15%. With our port community, we’re creating a smarter, greener logistics chain.

The portal is set to become the anchor point of more efficient port operations: fewer empty hauls, fewer wasted moves, and lower CO₂ emissions. One single access point gives users all the tools and info they need – custom-fit to their operations.
