Vlaeynatie opens three new warehouses

Vlaeynatie, located in the port area of North Sea Port, continues to invest in the future with the opening of three new warehouses. This expansion, adding 30,000 m² of extra storage and processing capacity, strengthens Vlaeynatie as a logistics partner and the port as a logistics hub.

The three new warehouses will mainly be used for the storage, packaging and processing of fertilisers. These new warehouses – called Terminals 3, 4 and 5 – can accommodate both bulk goods and packaged products. The site is also equipped with two brand-new, advanced bagging lines: one for big bags and one for 25 kg bags. With this expansion – a total investment of 25 million euros – Vlaeynatie aims to respond to the exponential demand for additional logistics solutions for its customers. Not only in (inorganic) fertilisers, but also in powdered specialty chemicals, minerals and related products. "In collaboration with Vlaeynatie, North Sea Port has constructed a new road structure to the terminal, including a safe cycle path. This promotes efficient, safe and sustainable transport to and around the company," says North Sea Port CEO Cas König.

Water, rail and road

Vlaeynatie is accessible by three modes of transport: water, rail and road. "Together with our strategic location in the North Sea Port area, these are additional advantages in terms of accessibility, especially now that the port of Antwerp is becoming increasingly busy," says Lieven Vander Elstraeten, CEO of Vlaeynatie. "Our good reputation and quality of service also contribute to the exponential growth in volumes. Expanding capacity was therefore a logical step and supports the diversification of Vlaeynatie's range of services."

About Vlaeynatie

Vlaeynatie was originally an Antwerp-based transhipment company, founded in 1845. Since 2015, it has been located on the Axelse Vlakte in Westdorpe, in North Sea Port, near the Dutch-Belgian border. Part of Vlaeynatie is Zeeland Sugar Terminal, a modern and advanced terminal for sugar storage and processing. With its own container terminal (3MCT) and companies active in transport (Swagemakers), forwarding (AWL) and chartering (CBS), Vlaeynatie offers an integrated logistics solution within the supply chain.
