A lot of port infrastructure and spatial projects come together in and around Zelzate, such as roads, railways, pipelines, electrification and water. In order to improve the quality of life in Zelzate, make smart use of space and coordinate developments, a vision for the future has been created.
North Sea Port will cooperate intensively with the Canadian ports of Montréal, Québec, Saguenay, Sept-Îles en Trois-Rivières. This new cooperation focuses on strengthening trade between the Saguenay-Saint Laurent sea corridor and North Sea Port. Canada is North Sea Port's fourth trading partner.

In 2024, the North Sea Port companies recorded a volume of 66.3 million tons of seaborne cargo transhipment, an increase of 0.7% compared to 2023. Inland navigation rose by 4.4%. These increases are encouraging in themselves, but especially so given current economic and geopolitical developments.

North Sea Port and Ghent-based Terra Mater BV are collaborating with the Brazilian group Petrom to produce sustainable aviation fuel and basic chemicals. Terra Mater will utilize its proprietary 2X Alcohol-to-Jet technology, developed in Ghent, for this venture.

LBC Tank Terminals has completed the full acquisition of Evolution Terminals in Vlissingen. LBC will further develop its new facility into a hub for the storage and distribution of sustainable products for the energy transition, aligning perfectly with North Sea Port's ambitions.
North Sea Port, Smart Delta Resources, and the Province of Zeeland commissioned a feasibility study into an ammonia network from Vlissingen to Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium. The study found that transport via pipeline can be carried out safely and is economically viable, provided certain conditions are met.
