With Mufasa, North Sea Port is adding another pillar to its energy strategy. As a cross-border port, we already play a key role in the production and distribution of electricity in the Netherlands and Belgium, with an increasing share coming from renewable sources. This aligns with the port’s commitment to climate neutrality and sustainability.
The region of Vlissingen, Terneuzen, and Ghent is home to over 100 wind turbines, some of the largest solar parks in the Low Countries, and several power plants. North Sea Port is also the biggest hydrogen hub in the Benelux. Several renewable energy projects are either in development or already underway in the port area. Additionally, Vlissingen serves as a base for the construction, operation, and maintenance of offshore wind farms.
