UPDATE Wednesday 26/11 – 10:00 AM

Shipping

Shipping has been resuming since this morning.

In Ghent, 8 vessels are still affected by the actions of the Zeebrugge Traffic Centre: 4 inbound and 4 outbound. These vessels are expected to be able to sail to and from Ghent during Wednesday 26/11 and Thursday 27/11.
The number of affected vessels is decreasing.

Road transport
R4 East (Ghent side): bridge at Volvo Cars. Actions expected until around 1:00 PM, possibly causing traffic disruption.

Ferries
Ferry Terdonk: not operating.

UPDATE Tuesday 25/11 – 09:00 AM

In Ghent, 14 vessels are affected: 7 inbound, 7 outbound.
Shipping destined for Vlissingen and Terneuzen is also affected by the actions of the Zeebrugge Traffic Centre.

UPDATE Monday 24/11 – 5:30 PM

The Zeebrugge Traffic Centre (Flemish Agency for Maritime Services and Coast) will be closed from Monday 24 November at 7:30 PM until Wednesday 26 November at 7:30 AM. During this time, no pilotage services will be available. Twelve vessels bound for Ghent are already affected. This number is expected to rise to several dozen as the strike continues for several days.

Due to the actions at the Traffic Centre, some vessels are also unable to reach the Dutch part of our port (Vlissingen and Terneuzen).

The anchorage in Vlissingen, responsible for boarding Flemish pilots on seagoing vessels, has been completely stopped since 12:30 PM today. As a result, vessels CANNOT enter or leave our port (except those with a Dutch pilot).

Impact on road transport: negligible

At North Sea Port, we note that we are severely affected by the high willingness to strike within the Flemish Government, particularly at the Agency for Maritime Services and Coast. North Sea Port deeply regrets this decision.
