Our employees come first

At North Sea Port, we’re one team. Spread across three sites and two countries. United by the same cornerstone: health, safety and great working conditions. And with a strong focus on wellbeing, equal opportunities, a healthy work-life balance and opportunities for growth.

Diversity, inclusion and equal pay for work of equal value? These aren’t just tick boxes. They’re anchored in the way we work – and in how we attract new #wavemakers

Our mutual commitment

Building a future-proof port is teamwork. And that’s what our #wavemakers do best – we provide an attractive workplace and plenty of opportunities for professional growth.

Resilience

Awareness to wellbeing and safety? By actively promoting this, we ensure a working environment where everyone can perform at their best.

Agility

We foster our ability to learn and enhance the versatility of our colleagues. This is how we stay agile, both internally and externally.

Leadership

Ownership, connection and a results-oriented mindset are our top priorities. They enable us to foster leadership at every level of our organisation.

Inclusion

We are proud of the diversity of our #wavemakers. A safe and open culture where everyone counts? Everyone should know.

Our approach

Great employment conditions, an active HR policy and an integrated IT code and code of conduct are our backbone. Through programmes such as Wellbeing.Together. and confidential advisors, we ensure physical, mental and social wellbeing in a safe environment.

Action plan digital skills

We’re building digital skills – through online and face-to-face training courses that foster a strong, digital growth mindset.

Cross-functional training

Employees can explore port-related topics that matter, like information security, subversive crime and cybersecurity. We offer tailor-made support for those who require it.

Togetherness and sharing

We bring people together – through lunch and other meetings on topics such as breathing techniques and our climate adaptation plan. Often organised on the teams’ own initiative.

Our carbon footprint

We’re phasing out fossil fuels and are going full electric with our fleet. Discover how we’re tackling our indirect emissions.

Ethical business

A port involves risks such as subversion, crime and corruption. Through a clear, decisive policy, we safeguard the integrity of our organisation and port area. And we look beyond our quays – by actively engaging in the debate and advocating for a more sustainable future.

Our approach

North Sea Port steers an ethical course – supported by the board, shareholders and all #wavemakers. We use strict frameworks regarding subversion, cybersecurity and procurement. And we’re working on a harmonised screening policy for employees in critical roles.

‘Say no’ campaign

In 2025, we launched a social media campaign to raise awareness among our employees and those of companies in our port: keep your eyes open for potential criminal activity.

Cybersecurity comes first

We keep our team alert to safety and (cyber)crime issues through targeted training and awareness sessions. This includes using the Hoxhunt platform.

Policy dialogue

Ethics, full transparency and no hidden agendas. We look after our interests through forums, trade associations and policy consultations.
