At the heart of our port: Coordination Centre

Always switched on, always in touch. At the Coordination Centre you’re a harbour lieutenant in Belgium or a traffic controller in the Netherlands. Together you keep vessel traffic safe and smooth. Weather shifts, technical issues, sudden hitches? You stay calm, act fast and keep captains, colleagues and partners in the loop.

“It’s vital to prevent problems wherever you can, rather than waiting until they arise to tackle them.”

Coordination Centre

At Port Operations it’s all about teamwork and expertise. In the Coordination Centre all information for smooth vessel traffic is brought together. Slippery quays? Unexpected failures? Unsafe situations? How quickly and smartly we respond affects efficiency and safety in our port.

The nerve centre of our port

At the Coordination Centre we’ve got eyes on everything. If incidents or emergencies happen, we jump in fast to keep shipping safe and steady. It’s that kind of swift, corrective action that keeps the whole port running strong.

Ready to set the course? Take the helm.

Safety, policy, environment – you set the course. With your expertise you play a key role on the intersection of government and business. You fire up ideas and push our port to the next level. Impact? Guaranteed.

You’re the wind in our sails

With you on board, our harbour masters never stand alone. As an adviser you back them up and step in where needed: from crisis and risk management to incidents and port security. Whatever your field of expertise, you help keep the port ready for anything.

You build bridges between public and private partners. Working with police, customs, local authorities and other ports, you make sure things stay safe and efficient. Together we fight crime and keep the port a trusted place for shipping and trade.

“Crime doesn’t stop at borders – and neither do I. As a connector I break down barriers, bring together services and spark collaboration. Information, initiatives, investigations: all shared to keep the port secure.”

The joint brain of our port

In the Coordination Centre (or Captains’ Room) we pool knowledge and know-how. Different, cross-border expert views tackle every situation and steer to the right solution. Out on the quays our presence matters too: it stops trouble before it starts!
